In our tests, we observed that the iRobot S9+ cleaned thoroughly and efficiently a variety floor surfaces including medium and hard carpets. It also did well on tiles, vinyl, and laminate flooring. It also did a nice job of maneuvering between furniture and objects, although it did struggle with stairs, where it can accidentally crash into things like bookcases.
We liked the fact that the S9 automatically returns to its base to empty its dust bin once it's full, which significantly reduces hands-on maintenance needs. The dust bin should last for about 30 loads or a month and half. You'll need to replace the filter every few months (as recommended by iRobot). In our experience, the iRobot S9+ doesn't get very loud during operation, so it's a good option for those living with pets or children.
Eufy RoboVac Hybrid X8
Robot vacuum cleaners are designed to take care of the chores for you, and can be used to clean hardwood and carpeted flooring. Certain robot vacuum cleaners can be controlled via a smartphone application, while others feature mopping technology for kitchen and bathroom flooring. They're a great choice for busy families, and they are becoming more affordable. However, if you want the latest features on your robotic cleaner, you'll need to pay a little more.
The Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid vacuum and mopping machine is an excellent choice for those living in multi-floored apartments. Its dual motors give it an impressive cleaning capacity, and the vacuum's 0.6l dustbin can store plenty of pet hair. The dust bin is easy to remove and empty which is great as you'll be required to do this regularly.
It's also simple to set it up, though I recommend fully charging the X8 Hybrid prior to running it for the first time. You'll have to install the Eufy Home app and follow the instructions to connect to your Wi-Fi network. After you've completed this, the app will help you create a precise map of your home. You can name the rooms, split rooms into sub-rooms in order to make it easier to open-plan living and guide the X8 Hybrid towards specific areas that need to be cleaned at a certain time. Eufy's application is more user-friendly and precise than other robots with similar scanning and mapping functions.
One of the best features on the X8 Hybrid is that you can activate the mop or vacuum using your voice, thanks to the integration with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. This is a great feature that makes the robot more hands-free. It was a success in our test house.
The X8 Hybrid, like many robotic vacuums has some problems with floors that are not fully covered. It may miss fur and other small objects, and can cause bumps to objects, such as its charger on the charging platform. It's also not as quiet as some other models we've tried, and the whirring sound can be distracting.
Roborock V3S Pro
This model isn't as feature-rich as some of the more expensive models we've tested however, it does have all the basics. It has a large dust bin that can hold a lot of dirt before needing to be cleaned. The mop and vacuum system is great for both hard floors and carpets with a low pile. It is also very quiet. We were able watch television while it was cleaning without feeling as though we were being constantly bombarded by the sound.
Our testers loved how easy it was to install and use, and were impressed by its capacity to get all the messes off their flooring. It also did a good job of vacuum robot picking up pet hair and messes from carpeting, but it was not as effective in removing stubborn stains. They found the app easy to use and intuitive, and they could schedule the vacuum to be cleaned on a regular basis to help reduce how much they had to do manually. The only drawback is that it does not have any mapping technology or object avoidance technology, so you can't send it to specific rooms or follow virtual boundaries (though magnetic boundary strips can be used).
The V3S Pro is another model that is part of iRobot's affordable line. It comes with some impressive features at an affordable price. It beat out all other robot vacuums we tested when it comes to the ability to avoid obstacles and map them, and it's the perfect option for those who are looking for an intelligent self-emptying robot vacuum that can take care of pet hair and messes on both carpets with low pile and hardwood floors. It's also extremely quiet and has a huge dust bin that can hold plenty of debris before it's time to empty it.
The V3S Pro did not make it onto our top choices lists from reliable sources that perform hands-on tests, but it received high marks from Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews and The Ambient. The V3S Pro was simple to use and set up, but the battery life was short.

Its base is strong and sturdy, with an integrated charging port for the battery. There's a docking station for the tank that is clean and the bins for dirty water on top. Below, you'll find an area that houses the vacuum bag sealed.

You'll still need to check the water levels in the dock manually however, since there's not an automatic reminder.
